Cloud Camp

One of three of The Broadmoor accommodation options that make the Wilderness Experience special, this is a peaceful mountaintop retreat located on the site of the historic Cheyenne Lodge, which first opened in 1926. The original lodge is gone (the immaculate, 8,000-square-foot Main Lodge has replaced it) but the new buildings are just as magical. Cloud Camp leaves visitors speechless: its accommodations include 15 one- and two-bedroom guest cabins nestled into the summit. Wanting even more? The Fire Tower Suite sits on a promontory high above the camp; it has first-floor sleeping quarters, plus a private hot tub, a wraparound deck and a second-story study. Surrounded by blue skies and woodland wonders, you won’t regret staying at this all-inclusive mountaintop hideaway.

All that makes Cloud Camp a mountaintop marvel

This Wilderness Experience property is situated 75 minutes west of the Broadmoor—and any extra time it takes to get here will be worth it. Fly Fishing Camp covers a five-mile stretch of Colorado’s famous Tarryall River. It provides a wonderful private retreat that combines world-class fishing with exceptional hospitality, leaving guests with unforgettable memories of huge catches and lots of laughs. Seven of the 1920s-era original cabins have been reclaimed and reimagined in The Broadmoor style; each cabin offers either two double or two single beds with pillows embroidered with rainbow trout. The Main Lodge is the activity hub, where visitors feast on communal meals after days of fishing, hiking, bird-watching and playing horseshoes.

More than just fishing at this exceptional property

The Ranch at Emerald Valley

Those who are looking to hike down from amongst the clouds for a Western getaway should look no further than the Ranch at Emerald Valley, which offers a distinctively Colorado experience on some of the country’s most beautiful lands. Opened in 2013, this property is located just 30 minutes from the Broadmoor, in a lush valley at the foot of Mount Vigil. There are one-, two- and three-bedroom cabins outfitted with cozy furnishings and handcrafted textiles. Amenities include gas fireplaces and heated floors in the bedrooms and bathrooms, ensuring you will stay warm and comfortable during your stay surrounded by 100,000 acres of Pike National Forest.
