Old Mill District

Old Mill District in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

The Old Mill got its start nearly 200 years ago when local farmers with sacks of grain traveled to the newly built gristmill along the Little Pigeon River. Today, the Old Mill District features multiple restaurants and shops, and that gristmill just happens to be one of the oldest continually operating mills in the country where you can still purchase flour and cornmeal that is made on-site to this day.

Included in the shops is The Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery, which features on-site potters who create pieces that capture the spirit of Appalachia and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, featuring a wide range of handcrafted pottery created by local artists who use techniques passed down through generations. The Old Mill Candy Kitchen is a sweet treat for all ages, where confectioners use time-tested recipes and traditional cooking methods for unique and flavorful candies.

You can forge a memory at Iron Mountain Metal Craft, located in the historic Old Mill District. In addition to watching skilled blacksmiths as they create custom metal pieces, you can also create your own unique souvenir to take home. Iron Mountain Metal Craft offers a variety of hands-on experiences that you won’t find elsewhere.

Located next to the Old Mill, the Old Forge Distillery uses freshly ground grain distilled in small-batch copper column stills for exceptional brews. Guests can also visit the tasting bar and gift shop. Other Old Mill shops include the Old Mill Creamery for homemade ice cream and milkshakes and the Old Mill General Store for unique souvenirs and favorite products from their Old Mill Signature line of foods.
