Located in the heart of the Southeast, travel to Birmingham is easy via Amtrak, major interstates, and the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport. No visit to Birmingham would be complete without learning a little something about our beginnings in the iron and steel industry and our pivotal role in America’s Civil Rights Movement. Just head over to Top Golf and swing away. If your family is in a picnicking mood, we have a number of parks that are perfectly situated for a day in the sun. And, if being outdoors is your jam, check out our many hiking trails, many of which are walks through our iron and steel history.
When the day is done, it’s going to be time for dinner, and dinner is definitely something we do. With choices ranging from world-class barbecue, to authentic soul food, to James Beard Award-winning restaurants, our national reputation for dining is certainly well-earned. It’s no surprise to us when we hear of folks like Andrew Zimmern talking up our restaurant scene.
